2.2 Business Card (vCard)
Handsets that do not have the syncML feature, but have business card ( vCard) function can be used to send contacts to, and receive contacts from Savemycontacts. vCards are electronic contact cards also referred to as business cards.
If your phone can support forwarding of contacts to other phones over SMS you probably have vCard functionality. Virtually, all Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones, for example, support vCards.
To forward a contact using this method is simple. You bring up the contact you want to back up, and send it to your local SaveMyContacts gateway number, as an SMS message. (For example, UK gateway number is + 44 7781 489444).
Whilst lacking the single 'batch send' appeal of syncML, this method allows you to select and send contacts which you consider important enough to back up and is still more effective than alternative methods like writing down contacts. (see the country information section for other country SMS gateways)
Contacts are retrieved by sending retrieve commands to the application.
