2.1 SyncML

Handsets with a feature called syncML are able to send all contacts stored on the phone ( Phone & SIM memory) in one quick 'single batch' over WAP dial-up* or WAP GPRS*. Periodic Up-dates are required to ensure your on-line back up account mirrors changes you might have made to your contact book.

For currently supported SyncML handsets click here.

Once set up, syncML users only require a click of the synchronisation button to initiate a sync session; which will copy the phonebook to the secure on-line account for safekeeping. Periodic syncs

ensure that updates, deletions and edits made on either your handset or on-line area, are synchronised. This will ensure that both handset and on-line account have identical information.

SyncML is the open standard sponsored by organisations like Ericsson, IBM, Lotus, Matsushita, Motorola, Nokia and Symbian, that drives data mobility by establishing a common language for 'over the air' communications between devices, applications and networks.
