Additions, edits and deletions can be done on either the website or the phone, and upon initiating a sync session both sets of data will be updated. SyncML requires access to a WAP/GPRS network and is charged as a data call session.

SyncML is the open standard sponsored by organisations like Ericsson, IBM, Lotus, Matsushita, Motorola, Nokia, Openwave, Starfish Software and Symbian, that drives data mobility by establishing a common language for over the air communications between devices, applications and networks.

What is a retrieve command

A retrieve command comprises of the service required digits, your telephone number and your PIN. We have added a ‘selective’ retrieve functionality, to enable targeted retrieval of a contact or contacts. For example, the command, (228*447766570001*1234#Jo), will return Jo, Joachim, John, etc. The more letters typed, the more specific the retrieval of contacts.

What are the commands I can use

SMS Command lines comprise of only four fields of information 1) the application name, 2) the action required, 3) your registered mobile number and 4) your self-selected PIN. These fields are separated by the * sign and the command ends with a #. Really simple!!! We suggest though, that you save the command line as a text template which you can edit to suit what you want the application to do. Remember only the action required needs to change depending on what you want the application to do.

a typical registration / top up command would look like this smc*222*4477570001*2344# ( 222 is the registeration command. Once registered, the application will treat 222 as a request to add credit).

222
